Margaret Loris Judge, 90, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2015, at Westbrook Acres, in Gladbrook, Iowa. Funeral services for Marge will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Greg Davidson officiating. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services, where her family will be present to greet friends. Memorial contributions may be directed in Marges name to her family. Margaret Loris Smith was born on September 22, 1924, at her home in Tama County, the daughter of Raymond Burr and Elvira (Whitesall) Smith. She was raised and educated in the Montour County school district. On October 4, 1941, Marge married the love of her life, Roger Everett Judge, in Land Caster, Missouri. In her younger years, Marge helped cook and clean for Mothers who were pregnant, and later farmed until 1970 when she moved to Marshalltown. Marge had a colorful working career including employment at Davis Hardware, managing 1 hour Martinizing, owning and operating Margs Antique then lastly operated a restaurant in Tama. Marg was a born natural athlete and enjoyed many of the sports. Her throwing arm was deemed to good for girls soft ball so she was required by the coach to play on the boys team. Marge enjoyed setting up at flea markets, garage sales, cut glass, dancing, kids and treasured her family. Left to cherish her memory is her son: Douglas Aruther (Candy) Judge; step-grandchildren: Thomas (Christine) Blessing and Kim Wells; step- great-grandchildren: Zach Wells and Josh Wells. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Judge; parents: Raymond and Elvira Smith; one son: David Judge; three brothers: Abner, Herbert and David; two sisters: Ella Mae and Maxine and one infant brother, Trenton.
