Margaret Ann Oetker

Margaret Oetker, 62, of Marshalltown, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2011 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Born on December 6, 1948, in Haverhill, she was the daughter of Robert H. and Mary (Knoll) Oetker. She received her education at St. Marys School and later graduated from the Lenihan Catholic High School in 1967. She was united in marriage to Bill Peters in 1968 and later divorced. Margaret enjoyed her time with her grandchildren, reading, scrapbooking, gardening, and traveling. Margaret was employed for 36 years at the Iowa Veterans Home until her retirement. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Vicki (Mike) Daugherty and Meri Martin, her precious grandchildren Michael, Robert, Chelsea, Jerry, Steven, Shianna, Kaitlyn and Tariq; her mother Mary and siblings- Robert (Janette) Oetker, Eileen (Vic) Ekvall, Rosemary (Phil) Straub, John (Deb) Oetker, Steve Oetker, Chuck Oetker, Larry (Leigh) Oetker and Jennifer (Bob) Sickles as well as twelve nieces and nephews and many friends.In death, she rejoined her father Robert H. Oetker, son-in-law Steven Proffitt Sr., and grandparents George and Hildegard Oetker and William and Naomi Knoll.
