Naomi Margaret Knoll Shuey Otte (Margaret), of Rogers, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the age of 106. Born on July 26, 1919, in a farm home near Millboro, Tripp County, South Dakota, she grew up helping on the family farms in South Dakota and later in Marshall County, Iowa. In 1940, she married Robert Kenneth Shuey, who passed away in 1946. In 1950, she married Clarence Fred Otte, whom she raised three daughters with. They moved to Rogers, Arkansas in 1978, and Clarence passed away in 1995. She dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her family.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and found joy in flower and vegetable gardening, bird watching, reading, and family gatherings. When living in Marshalltown, Iowa, she was actively involved in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Marshalltown Hospital Auxiliary, First Congregational Church and Women’s Fellowship, American Legion Auxiliary, Spring Valley Social Club, Marshall County Izaak Walton League, the Republican Party, and played party bridge. When living in Rogers, Arkansas, she was actively involved in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and City Council, Beaver Shores Women’s Club, Benton County Republican Committee, St Mary’s Rogers Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, an associate member of First Presbyterian Church, active in Elk’s Club, and an avid bridge card player.
Margaret is proceeded in death by her parents, William and Naomi Theckla Caspary Knoll, five brothers, two sisters, husband Robert Kenneth Shuey, and husband Clarence Fred Otte. Margaret is survived by her daughters Nancy Otte Collins (Rogers, AR), Judith Otte Juhl (Roland, IA), and Mary Otte Naber (Tulsa, OK), six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one surviving sibling, Shirley Knoll Duggleby, and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held in Marshalltown, Iowa, on June 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, 1209 Iowa Avenue W, Marshalltown, Iowa, with burial following at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
