Margaret Jean Sharp

Margaret Jean Sharp, 89, of Marshalltown entered into eternal life early Sunday morning, May 24, 2020 at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. Margaret Jean was born on February 19, 1931 in St. Anthony, IA, the daughter of Halley and Flora (Hawks) Whitney. She grew up in St. Anthony and graduated from the St. Anthony High School. On November 4, 1954, she was united in marriage to Glen Sharp in Waverly, IA. The couple made their home in Marshalltown where Margaret was employed at Fisher Controls and The Marshalltown Public School food service department. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers and spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 65 years, Glen; her children: Debra (Jerry) Hopkins, Sherry (Robert) Kasischke, David Sharp, Tim Sharp and Valerie (Don) Schable; her grandchildren: Casey, Brittney, Wesley, Cody and Jacob; her great granddaughter, Dakota; and two sisters, Eileen Gauch and Cathy Nolan.In eternal life, Margaret is reunited with her parents and two sisters, Ann and Ina.
