Margaret Elizabeth Wolf, 84, formerly of Marshalltown passed away on June 19, 2009 in West Des Moines Iowa. Graveside funeral services will be Wednesday June 24, 2009 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at 11:00 am with Pastor Me of the Beaman United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 10:00 to 10:45 before going to the graveside at Rose Hill. Margaret was born on May 29th, 1925 in Marshall County, Iowa to Charles and Lucette (Shank) Hodina. The family farmed, and her elementary education was at the country schools. She graduated from Lamoille High School in 1941. She Married Raymond Edward Wolf of Marshalltown on June 1st 1943 in Marshall County, and they had two sons. Margaret traveled with her husband in the military, living in post-war Germany as well many stateside assignments until his retirement, when they settled in Indianola, Iowa. After Raymonds death in 1973 she moved to Des Moines, where she lived the remainder of her life. Margaret was employed at Younkers for many years before leaving to join the Military Entrance Processing Station in West Des Moines. She retired from the MEPS in 1986. She excelled at crossword puzzles, and enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Cubs. Margaret is survived by her son Charles (Pam) Wolf of West Des Moines ; two grandchildren , Christine and Michael Wolf; a sister Virginia Stephenson, of Beaman, Iowa and a brother Stanley(Marlys) Hodina of Floyd , Iowa and many nieces and nephews . She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and a son Tracy. Family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa.
