Margery 'Joan' Sharp

Margery Joan Thomasson-Sharp, 69, of Laurel passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Marshalltown. Visitation for Joan will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Margery Joan Thomasson was born on April 20, 1946 in Centerville, Iowa to Dallas and Margaret Davids Thomasson. Joan was educated in the Laurel school district. On April 22, 1966, Joan was united in marriage to James L. Sharp in Laurel. Joan had been an employee with Bankers Life, Fisher Controls and Grinnell Mutual Insurance. She enjoyed to crochet, read, fishing and going to the casino. Joan is survived by her husband of 49 years, James. Children: Wade Sharp of Lakeville, Minnesota and Nik (Amy) Sharp of Farmington, Minnesota and granddaughter Mya Sharp. She is also survived by her sister Nancy and brother Mike. Joan is preceded in death by her parents Dallas and Margaret.
