Margie Elliott, 89, of Liscomb, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, June 12th, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad.
Born on June 12, 1936, in Liscomb, Iowa, she was the cherished daughter of Oswald and Genevieve (Tressler) Mears. Her mother later was united in marriage to James Macy.
Margie graduated from Liscomb High School in 1954. Soon after, on June 26, 1954, she married the love of her life (and high school sweetheart), Charles “Chuck” Elliott, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned decades. Her love for the Lord was unwavering and, in 1976, she shared that relationship side by side with her husband. They truly went out into the world to make disciples of men.
Margie was a beloved mother to two daughters, Leeann and Jodean, who were the light of her life. She found joy in knitting, crocheting, flowers, watching birds, playing piano and being accompanied by her husband on the guitar. The duet traveled to churches and nursing homes to provide that talent. Whether through her work at area grocery stores, her Sunday school teaching at the Liscomb Church or volunteering, Margie touched many hearts and will be remembered for her generous spirit and unwavering love. Time with her family was a highlight in her life.
She is survived by her daughter Leeann (Scott) Miller of Union, four grandchildren: Erin and Tully Beeghly and Ryan and Jeff Miller; seven great-grandchildren- Tessa and Henry Rose and Cassidy, Thomas, Elliott, and Gavin Miller and Emma Beeghly, three great-great-grandchildren- Emery, Carmella and Wyatt as well as one on the way, her sister, Kay (Charles) Cahalan and brother, George Macy as well as her Oakview family.
She is preceded in death by her beloved Chuck, daughter Jodean and brother Don (Joyce) Macy.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 16th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior. Private family burial will be in the Liscomb Cemetery at a later time. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com.
