Marguerite "Peggy" Lynk

Marguerite “Peggy” Lynk, age 71, of rural Marshalltown, passed away on the afternoon of Thursday, December 7th, at the Israel Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 15th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Green Mountain Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born Marguerite Ann Herman on June 16th, 1946, in Sigourney, Iowa, she was the daughter of John “Omer” and Clara (Smith) Herman. She graduated from the Sigourney High School. On May 4th, 1974, she was united in marriage to Dennis Lynk at the Little Brown Church. They made their home near the Green Mountain community. Peggy was a homemaker and had also worked as a nurse’s aide. Peggy also enjoyed volunteering her time at the Iowa Veteran’s Home. During the course of her volunteer time, she was a recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award. She enjoyed flowers, feeding the birds and any time spent with her family. Left to cherish her memory are Dennis, her loving husband of 43 years; her children- Jodi Moore of Kellogg, Kevin Lynk of Iowa Falls, Nicole (Kevin) Wilson of Ames and Kendra (Scott) Lufkin of Grundy Center; as well as several grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings- Linda Herman of Dallas, TX, Susan Marburg of Polk City, John Herman of Paola, KS, Chris Lawson of Solon, IA, Anthony Herman of Ottumwa and Bonita Suleiman in Minnesota; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In death, Peggy rejoined her parents and several aunts and uncles.
