Marian (Orville) Edler, 89, longtime State Center resident, died Tuesday, July 26, in Webster City where she has resided the past 2 years.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday July 30, 2011 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in State Center. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2011 at the West Marshall Chapel in State Center. Memorials may be directed to Clemons Lutheran School of Clemons. Phone 641-844-1234Born Marian Louise Primmer on November 11th, 1921, in New Hampton, Iowa, she was the daughter of Clarence and Vera (Budd) Primmer. She received her education in the Tama area.On February 12th, 1949, in the basement of the St. John Lutheran Church north of State Center, she was united in marriage to Orville Edler. They farmed north of State Center all of their married lives. Mrs. Edler was a faithful member of the St. John Lutheran Church, the ladies aid of the church, and was a long-standing card club player. She will be fondly remembered for her patience and kindness; love of her family, square dancing, playing cards, and baking lots of goodies! She also enjoyed embroidering and doing word search puzzles. She will be greatly missed.Left to cherish her memory are Orville, her loving husband of 62 years, her children: Curtis (Marla) Edler of Waterloo, Kevin Edler of Phoenix and Nancy (Kevin) Huntington of Webster City; her grandchildren- Tamara Edler (Derek Henne), Jason Edler, Morgan (Christopher) White and Kathryn Huntington, one great-grandson; Talon Henne as well as her brother James (Lois) Primmer of Cedar Rapids and many nieces, nephews and the Edler family.In death, Marian rejoined her parents, an infant daughter Sue Annette, and siblings Nellie May Stanek, Stanley Primmer and Phyllis Morse.
