Marian Strom

Marian Lucille Strom passed away May 20, 2009 in Ellensburg, Washington. Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at ElmwoodCemetery at Lamoille. Marian was born Jan. 15, 1915 in Randolph, Nebraska, the second daughter of Emiland Anne Marie (Sorenson) Strom. Marian loved to teach. In her early years she taught in Nebraska, then in Iowa and ended her career in Oregon. In 1948-49 she taught children of army personnel in Germany. That year of teaching, traveling and meeting friends had a major impact on her life. She loved reading, fellowship with friends, traveling, cooking, music, gardening, sewing and her family. Marian loved the gospel of Jesus as in the Bible and she lived by it throughout her life. She will be missed by her family and friends, yet the influence remains. Left to honor her memory is her sister Inez Black of Marshalltown IA., nephews Harry (Carol) Black of Marion, IA., Paul (Carolyn) Sickman of Kansas City, MO, niece Joy (Richard) Vybiral of Marshalltown, IA. and her late nephew's wife,Ann Black of Ellensburg, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Elda Sickman and nephew Don Black.
