Marie Hendrickson

Marie Hendrickson, 104, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, May 9, 2017, in the comfort of her own home, with her loving daughter by her side. Following Maries wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. The family will be holding a private celebration of life for Marie at a later date. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Marie and her family. Marie Dent was born on April 20, 1913, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Robert T. and Anna M. (Grove) Dent. She was raised and educated in the Marshall County School District, where she graduated from high school. Following high school, Marie went on to obtain her teaching degree from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Marie was united in marriage to Clarence Red Hendrickson in Marshalltown, Iowa. From this union a daughter Lee was born. Marie dedicated 49 years of her life teaching many generations of children. She also promised her mother to remain close and to help raise all of her younger siblings and she was proud to fill that role. Marie had a passion for teaching, horses, wildlife, painting and spending time with her family. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter: Lee Hendrickson; three brothers: Dale Dent, Robert Leroy Dent, Roger Dent; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and grand nephews and nieces; two of her four legged furry children: dog, Maedchen and one cat, Cassie. She is preceded in death by her husband: Clarence; parents: Robert and Anna; one brother, Robert William Dent; one sister Marvel Bechtel and older infant sister. She will be very missed.
