Marie Morgan

Marie Darlene Morgan, 84, lifelong resident of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 surrounded by her family. Funeral services for Marie will take place on Friday, November 13 at 4:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home, with a visitation being held one hour prior, beginning at 3:00 P.M. In accordance with the recent state of Iowa guidelines, facial masks are required to be worn and strict practice of social distancing must be followed. Marie was born August 1, 1936 in Marshalltown to parents Reland and Ruth (Petrie) Morden. She graduated from Marshalltown high school in 1954.  In the summer of 1964, she was united in marriage to Ruben Morgan. She was an excellent homemaker and attended New Hope Christian Church. In her free time, Marie enjoyed camping and shopping at thrift stores and garage sales.  She loved bingo and Chinese buffets. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and foster grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory is her children: Lloyd (Debra Sue) Fisher, Corrine Fisher, Ramona Verdinez and Jay (Mary) Roberts; grandchildren: Jennifer Fisher, Tara Spencer, Justin Spencer, Jermaine Spencer, Kathy Wabaunasee, Sierra Morgan, Ruben Jones, Keenan Johnson, Dayjuene Morgan, Shane Brown, TJ Brown, Chip Brown, Michelle Brown, Christopher Brown, Porsche Roberts, Jayshawn Roberts, Rachel Roberts, Hannah Roberts and Jordan Roberts; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Ruben; daughter, Roxanne Fisher; grandsons: Sergio Morgan and Dedrikk Fisher; her parents, Reland and Ruth; her sisters: Mildred “Millie” Bailey, Lucy Howell and Pat Harvey and former husband Donald Fisher.
