Marie Robertson

Marie Robertson (Erikson), 86, of Marshalltown passed way at Central Iowa HealthCare on January 3, 2017 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with a public visitation held an hour beforehand at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Marie Erikson was born in Roldal, Norway to Edmund and Durdei (Overland) Erikson. Marie came to Ferguson, Iowa from Norway in 1934. Marie graduated from Dunbar High School in 1948 as valedictorian of her class. On August 18, 1949 Marie was united in marriage to Donald Ray Robertson at the Little Brown Church. The two would make their way to Marshalltown and would raise five children. Marie was an avid card player, enjoyed playing in pepper tournaments and duplicate bridge. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and she loved to travel in her free time. She loved to spend time with her family and was a proud mother and grandmother. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Deanna (Paul) Adams, Paul Robertson, Kris (David) Navara, and Jennifer Robertson-Lacey; grandchildren: Jerome (Kari) Waterbeck, Weston (Lori) Waterbeck, Julie (Brent) Chrisco, Mikayla Lacey and Logan Lacey; great-grandchildren: Jayden Waterbeck, Taylor Waterbeck, Trenton Waterbeck, Isaiah Chrisco, Kailey Waterbeck, and Elijah Chrisco; and brother Edmund (Mary Lou) Erikson. Marie is preceded in death by her husband Donald Pete Robertson; sons, James Paul Robertson and Donald Erik Robertson; grandson Michael Allen Waterbeck and great-granddaughter McKenzie Waterbeck.
