Marie C. (Mrs. Harry) Trowbridge, 70, of State Center, died Saturday evening, August 11th, at the Story County Hospital in Nevada. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 16th, at St. Josephs Catholic Church in State Center with Fr. Rick Dagit as celebrant. She will be laid to rest in the St. Josephs Cemetery at State Center. Born Marie Cecilia Krause on January 6th, 1937, at Mobile, Alabama, she was the daughter of Stephen and Adlaide (Brown) Krause. She received her high school education and attended business school. On August 7th, 1954, she was united in marriage to Harry Trowbridge in Mobile, Alabama. They resided at Mobile before moving to State Center and making it their home for the past 35 years. Mrs. Trowbridge was a telephone operator for GTE and was a member of St. Josephs Parish in State Center and the Rosary Society. Marie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed flowers, lighthouses, cooking and her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many. Left to celebrate her life are her loving husband of 53 years, Harry, her children: Patricia Trowbridge of Collins, Iowa, Renee (Dave) Grice of Tampa, Florida, Mark (Kimberly) Trowbridge of Marshalltown and Teresa (Jeff) Fisher of Windsor Heights, Iowa, her grandchildren: Reece, Ryleigh, Jordan, Blake, Samantha, Allison and Drew, her brothers: Arthur Krause of Mobile, Alabama and Tommy Krause of Pensacola, Florida, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her parents and brothers George and Stephen.
