Marilee Mae Niedermann, 91, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away Monday, February 8, 2016, at Oakview Care Center in Conrad, Iowa surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Oakview Care Center and Hospice Compassus. Marilee Niedermann, daughter of David and Minna (Tigges) Raeder was born on May 17, 1924. She attended Van Cleve High School where she was involved in 6 on 6 basketball. She worked for VanCleve Food Service and attended Marshalltown Business College. She then worked for Lennox Industries, Montgomery Ward, Tempo, and finished her career at United Federal Savings and Loan as Manager. Marilee was married to Wilford Bill Niedermann on November 23, 1950. They made their home in Marshalltown, Iowa and she loved being close to her family. She was an avid bowler on Eggleston Electric Womens Bowling team and participated in many national tournaments. Other activities she enjoyed were: YMCA trips with her friends, Marshalltown Community theater plays, Garden Club, Binford House Board, Soroptomist, First Baptist Church Choir, Golden Opportunities Group, Baptist Womans Missions and singing in the Living Christmas Tree. Marilee is survived by a daughter, Connie(John)Walkup of Georgetown, Texas, son, Steve(Peggy) Niedermann of Marshalltown, granddaughter, Julie(Tony) Shinn of Driftwood , Texas, four grandsons, Jeff( Kate) Niedermann of Marshalltown, Patrick( Amanda) Walkup of Pflugerville, Texas, Gary Niederman of Atlanta Georgia, Doug (Allison) Niedermann of Marion, Iowa, eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Violet(Paul) Haws of Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and parents, David and Minna Raeder. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa with Pastor Gerald Robison officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery in Marshalltown.
