Anson, 92, of Marshalltown passed away Thursday night, January 14, 2021, at Southridge Specialty Care. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service is planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 (please note date) at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens beside her husband of 65 years, Jerry Anson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Anson in 1947 after he returned from his naval service of WW II. Besides being a homemaker and mother of three sons, she worked at Household Finance for 17 years and the Lennox Employees Credit Union. She had also been president of the Woodbury School PTA. Marilyn and Jerry enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, trips to Las Vegas and entertaining at home. Left to cherish her memory are three sons: Terry (Beth) of Marshalltown, Gary (Cheryl) of Solon and Kevin (Dawn) of Carnation, WA; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and various nieces, nephews, cousins and friends,A special thanks to all the employees of Southridge Specialty Care, Care Initiatives Hospice and all of her friends at Embers who always watched over Marilyn. In eternal life, Marilyn is reunited with her parents; her husband, Jerry; an infant daughter, Jerilynn; her sister Nylene (Lon) Connor; sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Hope Anson; grandson, Alex Anson, nephew, Dana Anson and step father, Burl Jay.
