Marilyn J. Reiser, 80, of Marshalltown, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at Villa del Sol while in the care of her family and Iowa River Hospice.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 5th, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She was the daughter of Raymond and Vivian (Gifford) Poole. She attended Marshalltown High School and later finished and received her high school diploma at age 40. On December 24, 1959, Marilyn married Bill Reiser in Reno, Nevada. The couple lived in Lamoille for 30 years and then moved to Marshalltown in 2001. Marilyn worked at the Iowa Veterans Home in the late 1940s and again in the 1970s. She then worked at Mid Iowa Community Action until she retired in 1982 to take care of her mother in her own home until her death. Marilyn enjoyed playing Bingo, crocheting, and making dolls for her children and grandchildren.Surviving Marilyn is her husband, Bill, of Marshalltown; her 9 children, Karen(Richard) Minser of Marshalltown, George(Lydia) Drennon Sr. of Beaufort, SC, Raymond Drennon of Marshalltown, Delbert(Sun Soon) Drennon Jr. of Richmond, VA, Robin(William) Saling of Ames, Miriam Williams of Lincoln, IA, Carmen(James) Zednichek of Marshalltown, David(Ken Bierbrodt) Reiser of Marshalltown, and Kimberly(James) Raggio of Colfax; her 31 grandchildren; her 29 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way; and her brothers, Matthew Poole of Arizona, Douglas Poole of Marshalltown, and Tim Poole of Union Grove.In death, she has rejoined her father Raymond Poole; her mother Vivian Hicks; her stepmother Ella Mae Poole; her son, Charles, her brother, Dean Hudson; her twin brother and sister, Delbert and Shari Poole; her two sons-in-law, Stephen Pemberton and Ward Williams; her grandson, Marcus Babinat, an infant grandson, and her great-grandson, Thomas Zednichek.
