Mario Murillo, 28, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024.
A visitation for Mario will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Midnight Garden, 1501 S 17th Ave, Marshalltown, IA 50158. Mario Gustavo Murillo was born on March 14, 1996 in Iowa City, Iowa. He was the oldest of three children born to Mario Murillo Mora and Stacy Alvarez (Howe). In his younger years, Mario grew up in Lexington, Nebraska and later moved to Marshalltown. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in the Class of 2014.
Mario was the father of five children, Ethan Murillo, Damien Murillo, Carlos Murillo, Josiah Murillo, and Cattaleya Murillo. Growing up he attended church at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington, Nebraska. As he grew up, he enjoyed spending time with his friends, attending the Pow Wow’s in the summer, entertaining his family and friends and making everyone laugh. He began to work on trying to begin his own lawn care and landscaping business as a future endeavor. In his free time, he enjoyed cutting his lawn, spending time with his children, cutting hair, working on his truck, and being a jack of all trades.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his special companion, Marianna Gonzales; his children, Ethan, Damian, Carlos, Josiah and Cattaleya; his parents Stacy (Jose) Alvarez and Mario Murillo Mora; his grandfather, Angel Murillo; his siblings, Diego (Alexis) Murillo, Sophia Murillo, Brisa Alvarez, Analia Murillo and Jovanni Alvarez; alongside his aunts and uncles, niece and nephew, numerous cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Craig and Rebecca Howe and Guadalupe Mora-Sanchez and his great-grandparents.
