Marion Borton, 79, of Marshalltown, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Cremation rites have been accorded. Born December 14, 1940 at home in Story County, Marion was the son of Cleo and Merle (Smith) Borton. He met Nancy Diggins when they were just teenagers and was married to her on Valentine’s Day, 1960 in Le Grand. Marion worked as a painter for over 43 years at Emerson – Fisher Controls before retiring. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Nancy; his children: Mary Jo (Mike) Raymond of Des Moines, Kathy (John) Kasner of Ferguson and Kim Borton of Marshalltown; grandchildren Nicholas Smith of Beacon and Justin (Dani) Kasner of Melbourne; great-grandson Jaxon Kasner and brother Clarence Borton of Marshalltown.
