Marion D. Bryant, 88, of Marshalltown, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at his home.  Funeral services for Marion will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be prior to the service, starting at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of donations, memorials may be directed to the charity of your choice in memory of Marion. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Marion and his family.  Marion Bryant was born on November 10, 1929 in Marshalltown to Delbert K. and Emma R. Bracken Bryant. On November 29, 1968, Marion was united in marriage to Norma “Joleen” Jones in Princeton, Missouri. They lived their married lives together in Marshalltown and spent winters in Frostproof, Florida. Marion had worked for Fisher Controls for 39 years and retired in 1985. He enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing, camping, Dairy Queen ice cream, going to the casino playing the “Sizzling 7” slot machine and was an avid St Louis Cardinals fan. He was a member of the Moose lodge and Legion memorial golf club, enjoyed going on trips to Talladega to the NASCAR races, was a season ticket holder to the Iowa Speedway and enjoyed spending time with his family.  Left to cherish his memory are his children: Deb (Jerry) Jensen of Wayne, Nebraska, Gary (Judy) Bryant of Colo and David (Shin) Bryant of Crestview, Florida, Ron (Colleen) Jones of Sandy, Utah, Leona (Walter) Huffaker of Marshalltown, Julie (DeWayne Armstrong) of Ankeny, Jacqueline (Mike) Adair of Clinton, Jennifer (Marty Huntington) of Davenport. Grandchildren: Ted (Corina) Gould, Janice Bryant, Traci Kaufman , John Bryant, Carrie Selvog, Jon Huffaker, Randy Scheel, Donna Augustine, Sara Jones, Phillip (Kari) Dodds, Aaron (Chrissy) Dodds, William (Rachel) Dodds, Michelle (Dave) Bush and Chris (Kirstin) Dodds, and 21 great grandchildren as well as his special friend, Diane Davis.  Marion is preceded in death by his wife Norma “Joleen” Bryant, parents Delbert and Emma, siblings, Evelyn Betts and Warren Bryant, granddaughter, Kim Ericks and his first wife, Darlene Armstrong.
