Marjorie L. Braga, 92, passed away at Central Iowa Health Care in Marshalltown on Tuesday March 29, 2016 with her family at her side. Visitation will be held on Friday April 1, 2016, from 5 -7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church. Marjorie Lou Zickefoose was born on January 15, 1924, on the family farm southwest of Wyman, Iowa to Charles and Elnora (Turkington) Zickefoose. She received her teaching degree from Buena Vista College. She loved to teach children as a kindergarten teacher in Laurens and Iowa Falls. Marjorie was married at the Methodist Church in Thornton, Iowa on August 15, 1948, to the love of her life Marvin Robert Braga. They moved to Marshalltown from Iowa Falls in 1962. Marjorie later worked with her husband in their car dealership, Braga Motor Co. Marjorie was a member of First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Tri T, PEO Chapter JU, and the Spinning Wheel Chapter DAR. She enjoyed oil painting, bird watching, and tending to her flower garden. She also enjoyed singing and playing her piano and organ. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Bradley K. (Kathy) Braga of Marshalltown, Iowa; Jane Braga Ridgely of Mesa, Arizona; Mark A. (Lee Ann) Braga of Marshalltown, Iowa; grandchildren: Kyle Braga Ridgely, Courtney Marie Ridgely, David Robert Braga, Hollie Ann Braga, Lauren Amelia (Adam) Bailey, and Daniel Scott (Lisa) Zuelke; great-grand child, Tristan John Bailey. In death Marjorie rejoins, her parents, Charles and Elnora, husband, Marvin (2014) and siblings, Harold Zickefoose, Samuel Zickefoose, Charles Dale Zickefoose, Martha Schmidt, Margaret James and James Willard Zickefoose.
