Marjorie Elizabeth Fulton, 87, of Conrad, died Friday, December 19th, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23rd, at the Whitten Community Church with Pastor Jim Hartman officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Benson Cemetery at Whitten. Visitation will be held from 4-8:00 p.m. on Monday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be made to the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Ph 641-844-1234.Born June 8th, 1921, at Scott County near Montpelier, Iowa to Elmer and Emma Lucinda (Willroth) Pahl, she attended schools at Blue Grass until 5th grade, Moscow until 8th grade and graduated from the Wilton High School in 1939. She married Richard Clarence Fulton of Wilton at New Hampton, Iowa, on August 26, 1939. They operated the dairy farm south of Wilton until moving to Whitten in 1955. Marge was employed by Mis-Steak House at Whitten as well as housekeeping jobs and working on the farm, and by Dayco Corp. at Eldora until retiring in 1989. She was a member and youth choir director of United Presbyterian Church at Wilton and Methodist Church at Whitten and past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She earned letters in basketball and softball at Wilton High School and a music scholarship to Cornell College at Mt. Vernon after playing saxophone at state music competition.Survivors include two daughters: Sonya (Michael) Moore of Whitten and Peggy (Barry) Clemens of Union; three sons: Dennis (Connie) Fulton of Cedar Rapids, Steven of Whitten and Ronald (Dori) of Des Moines, 11 grandchildren: Michelle (Aaron) Kooiker of Granger, Derek of Cedar Rapids, Courtney of Washington, D.C., Tyler of Marshalltown, Troy (Lacie) Moore of Conrad, Ashley (Robert) Hauser of Conrad, Brandon Clemens of Union, Ryan Clemens of Union, Rachel and Reid of Eldora, Sierra Perkins of Des Moines, three great-grandsons Ashton, Landon and Reece; sister-in-law Janice E. Birkhofer, niece Terri (Mike) Denkman and nephews Alan (Linda) and Tim Birkhofer all of Moscow.She was preceded in death by her father on September 6th, 1921, step-father Harry Birkhofer on September 20th, 1962, husband on September 5th, 1986, mother on January 9th, 1989 and brother Lyle R. Birkhofer on May 30th, 1994.
