Marjorie Loney, 91, of Marshalltown, died early Monday morning, April 7th, at the MMSC. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Rev. David Beckman of the 1st Presbyterian Church officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 4-8:00 p.m. on Thursday with her family present from 7-8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to your favorite charity in her memory. Born Marjorie Florence Cory on June 25th, 1916, in Rhoades, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles and Estelle M. (Bonham) Cory. Marjorie graduated from the Marshalltown High Schools Class of 1935. On December 6th, 1937, she was united in marriage to Theodore Ted Loney. They resided in Marshalltown where she was employed at the ASC offices in tax prep. At the age of 82, she coordinated volunteer tax preparers for Marshall County. She was a member of the Friends Church and the 1st Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Loney enjoyed gardening, cards, volunteer work, Blue Star Mothers, car races and was very young at heart. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Janet (Alden) Christensen of Viborg, SD., Gary (Sally) Loney of Cedar Rapids and Sandra (John) Houldsworth of Naples, Florida. Her six grandchildren: Brenda (Dave Townsend) Christensen, Rob (Sue) Christensen, Brad Loney, Brian (Holly)Loney, Tia (David) Plum and Jason (Suzan) Hauser. Her seven great-grandchildren: Laura Tonwnsend, Abby & Alyssa Christensen, Mackenzie and Madisen Plum, Paige and Brooke Loney; anda niece whom she was raised with Deloris (Harvey) Van Wie of Red Creek, NY. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. In death she has rejoined her parents, her husband and two brothers: Paul and Judson.
