Mark Haunsperger tragically left this world on January 3, 2018. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home, with a public visitation held one hour prior to the funeral. Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at a later date. For condolences please visit www.Mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234. Mark was born in Marshalltown Iowa to the parents of Joseph and Shirley (Greenhow) Haunsperger. He graduated from Marshalltown High School with the class of 68. He honorably served his country by serving in the United States Navy from 1970 until 1972. When he returned from active duty he found employment at Maytag in the Tool and Dye center. Mark was a social person who never met a stranger, he loved to tell stories even if you had heard them before he would be glad to tell you again with the same vigor he had the first time. He loved to travel and his most recent trip he ventured to Mexico with a group of friends, those stories have to stay in Mexico though. He enjoyed Hunting when he had an opportunity, but more recently he was a fan of socializing with his close friends at the shop or the Old Timer, solving the world’s problems after a few beverages. You had a pretty good chance of seeing him at Taco Johns as well. He enjoyed biking and visits to the local YMCA in recent years. Left to cherish Mark’s memory are his daughters Samantha and Katie Haunsperger, brothers David and Beuth Haunsperger, and grand-dog Teddy and countless friends. Mark is preceeded in death by his parents Joseph and Shirley.
