Mark Robert Mccoy

Mark McCoy, 57, of Montour, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at home under the care of his wife Keri and the Iowa River Hospice Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. also at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. The family has requested that everyone attend casual for the service. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Mark and his family. Mark Robert McCoy was born on November 1, 1956 to Robert and Phyllis Brewster McCoy in Marshalltown, Iowa. Mark graduated from South Tama High School in 1975. On August, 26, 1995 Mark was united in marriage to Keri Hillygus in Garwin. Mark was an owner and operator for his own semi hauling local grain out of LeGrand under many different company names such as Carlson Ag, Folkman Ag, LeGrand Farm Center and most recently Key Co Op. He also hauled for Rolling Oats LLC, Jack and Kim Keen and Princehouse Trucking hauling livestock, as well as a farmer working on the family farm alongside his father to whom was his best friend. Mark was a member of the Central Iowa Snow Mobile Association as well as Ridge Riders Saddle Club. Mark had a love for life; he loved animals and enjoyed working on the farm. Mark also loved to snowmobile and just always liked to keep busy. Mark also enjoyed the PBR Rodeos and spending time with his horses. Mark truly cherished the time he spent with his nieces and nephews as well. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 18 years; Keri. Parents: Robert and Phyllis. Siblings: Marty (Pat) McCoy of Toledo, Calvin McCoy of Tama, Julie (Gery) Hagerty of Tama and Tammy (Frank) Dunaway of Texas. Nieces and nephews: Tricia (Scott) Gonyo and their children Allison and Ashley, Cara (Chris) Spencer and their son Cade, Kelsey (Steve) Bankey, Shelley (Zach) Leiser, Alicia (Kyle) Disney and their son Greyson, Lexie (Chad) Kurovski, Adam McCoy, Logan Dunaway, Luke Dunaway, Staci Hillygus and Hunter Hillygus. Mother in law: Carol McLain and Marks beloved dog Tucker and cat Ruby. Mark is preceded in death by his dog Cletus.
