Mark A. Towne, age 62 of Marshalltown and formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown under the care of Suncrest Hospice.

Mark Allen Towne was born February 5, 1963 in Berwyn, Illinois. He was the oldest of four children born to Ronald and Barbara (Kortan) Towne. Mark grew up in Berwyn/Cicero until moving to Romeoville, Illinois at a young age where he received his GED. While in school, he participated in the ROTC program. He enlisted in July 1980 to the United States Army where he served his country honorably until September of 1981 when he was honorably discharged from service.

Mark was first united in marriage to Angel Mayle. Together they had one son. Mark and Angel later divorced. He was then married to his second wife, Madonna, where he had two additional children. After their separation, Mark moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he worked for Pinkerton as a security guard. In 2019, he moved to Marshalltown where he became involved with the American Legion. In his free time, Mark loved playing pool, golf, watching basketball and other sports. He was avid fans of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his siblings, Donna Brawner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Thomas (Cheryl) Towne of Sparta, Wisconsin; alongside numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Towne, grandmothers, Florence Baker and Rose Kolowski; brother, Tim Towne; and his aunt and uncle.

The family wishes to thank the Iowa Veterans Home Dack 3 Team and Suncrest Hospice for their exceptional care given to Mark.
