Marlys Montz

Marlys Montz, 80, of Marshalltown passed away peacefully on May 6, 2019 at Grandview Heights Nursing and Rehab. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at a later date. For condolences please visit www.Mitchellfh.com or call (641)-844-1234. Marlys was born on January 8, 1939; she was the daughter of Harry and Eva (Wilson) Benge. She was very proud of growing up in Marshalltown and graduating from Marshalltown High School with the class of 1957. Marlys was united in marriage to Max Montz in April, 1959; a day she would never forget. Marlys was employed by Fisher Controls and loved getting the chance to meet new friends. She Loved her family unconditionally, and would go out of her way to help anyone in need, family or not. Left to mourn Marlys’ death is her children David and Dana (Karen) Montz, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and brother Thomas (Sidnee) Benge. She is preceded in death by her husband Max, daughter Cathi Sue, and her parents, Harry and Eva.
