We remind people, it is still appropriate to use masks in attendance as well as the practice of social distancing. Marsha Jeanine Weidler was born September 9th, 1947 in Marshalltown to parents Kenneth L. and Virginia R. (Legg) Weidler.  After graduating high school, she went on to attend cosmetology school.  She married Maynard M. Doty Jr. on August 13th, 1966 at First United Church of Christ in Marshalltown. Marsha worked several jobs in her lifetime: in the JBS (Swift) cafeteria, at Party Pack Popcorn, Walmart, Donneleys, A&W and the egg plant. She especially loved her job at the bus barn where she was a monitor because she got to reconnect with people she hadn’t seen for years.  Marsha liked to go out for fish with the girls from work.  She absolutely had a heart for her bus kids and kids in general.  She had a way of reaching them.  Marsha was very involved in volunteering, helping 2nd Chance on Third, the Salvation Army and the Food Pantry.  She would cook for the House of Compassion and help with events like Relay for Life. In her free time, Marsha enjoyed fishing, cooking and playing with her dogs.  She liked doing yard work, gardening and had knick-knacks all over the yard.  If she saw something on the side of the road, she would stop to pick it up. She always said she could clean it up and someone could use it.  She loved Hawkeye football with her dad and the Green Bay Packers.Marsha was very giving:  if someone was in need, she would give from what she had even if it meant she had to do without.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her.  She was so happy for her miracle grandchild.  She also adored her great nieces and nephews.  Marsha was blessed to walk her niece, Jessica down the aisle and give her away at the same church Marsha and her daughter, Patricia were both married at. Left to cherish her memory: her daughter Patricia (Dan) Burton, son Charles Doty; grandchildren Randy, Gregory and Michael Burton; seven great-grandchildren; her siblings Scott Weidler, and Sheryl Dalton; niece Jessica (Dillon) Horn; nephews Trevor Weidler, Robert Dalton, Alan Brindle and Kenneth Weidler. Marsha is preceded in death by her husband, Maynard; her parents Kenneth and Virginia; her brother Daryl Weidler; 2 sister-in-laws; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and her beloved pets Max, Maggie and Mimi Jo, who will be laid to rest with her.
