Our beloved mother, Marsha McCammant, passed away on Saturday, July 26, after suffering a medical emergency while on vacation. This unexpected loss has left our hearts broken. Marsha was passionate about many things—most of all, her husband Ron, her grandchildren, her beloved dog Lilly, and a good shopping trip.

Marsha was born on January 22, 1959, in Belmond, Iowa, to Merlyn and Mary Lu Borchers. She grew up in Garner, Iowa, and shared a close bond with her sister Karen and brother John. She later relocated to Marshalltown, Iowa, where she began her family.

Marsha worked at the Iowa Veterans Home, where she found deep purpose in caring for others. Her role there allowed her to build long-lasting relationships not only with residents, but also with her co-workers, many of whom she remained in contact with following her retirement.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie McCammant; her daughters, Jill (Brad) Bartlett and Jenny (Stacy) Ayers; her stepchildren, Cherie Webber, Elena (Patrick) Sutton, and Jeremy McCammant; and her cherished grandchildren, Aubree and Kayla Bartlett, and Sydney and Hunter Sutton. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Lu Borchers, and her brother, John Borchers.

Marsha found joy in life’s simple pleasures—garage sales, diamond art, cross-stitching beautiful pieces, and, most importantly, spending time with her family. Her constant smile, warm heart, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

We are deeply grateful for the dedicated care of her medical team, who ensured every option for recovery was explored. We are also thankful for the support, prayers, and kind words we’ve received during this difficult time.

We take comfort in knowing she is no longer in pain, that she passed peacefully, surrounded by love both near and far, and that she has been reunited with her lost loved ones in Heaven—living now under God’s everlasting love.

A celebration of Marsha’s life will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
