Martha Schumann Daiker, 90, of Liscomb, Iowa, passed away on December 10, 2014, at Grandview Nursing Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 2:30 p.m., at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Interment will be held at Rose Hill in Marshalltown, Iowa, following the Funeral Service. Martha Schumann Daiker was born on November 20, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of Martin and Anna Tonnesen. Martha was united in married to Raymond Schumann and together they had four children. Later in life, Martha and Raymond were divorced and she remarried to Roy Daiker. She lived her life in Brooklyn, New York, Iowa, Minnesota, and the majority in Mission, Texas. Martha worked in the Navy Ship Yard in Brooklyn, Bishops Cafeteria in Des Moines, Flee Markets in Texas, and she was also a sample lady at Albertsons and Sams Club, where she was known as "The Bread Lady." She enjoyed socializing, polka music and dancing, but most of all she was loved by her family. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Linda (the late Speck) Wheeler of Des Moines, Iowa; Martin Schumann of Marshalltown, Iowa; Dennis Schumann of Tama, Iowa; and Karen (Ronald) Wacome, of Liscomb, Iowa; ten grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great grandchildren; and a host of friends. In death, Martha rejoins her parents, Martin and Anna; husband, Roy; four sisters and one brother: Sarah, Elsia, Ruth, Ester and Robert; and her granddaughter, Jackie Wheeler.
