Martha Beatrice Dixon, 36, of Quarry, formerly of Union, died Sunday, December 7th, 2008 at home, while in the loving care of her husband, family, and Iowa River Hospice.Funeral services celebrating Marthas life will be at noon on Friday, December 12th at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She grew up and attended school there. On July 26th, 2006, Martha was united in marriage to John Lyle Dixon in Nashville, Tenn. The couple made their home on the road as independent game owners for their business-Dixon Concessions, traveling throughout the United States, entertaining thousands of people at various county fairs, state fairs, and festivals. Martha very much enjoyed working with the public and operating the business.Left to cherish Marthas memory are her beloved husband John; her children: Kenneth (Moose) McDaniels and Justin McDaniels of Texas, Diane McKnight of Florida, Amber Caples of Virginia; step-children John (Katrina) Dixon of the road, Emily Dixon of California, Victoria Dixon of Louisiana; 8 month old granddaughter Makaela Rae McDaniel; 2 year old step-grandson Baby John Dixon; several brothers and sisters, all of Texas; as well as many friends. In death, Martha has rejoined her parents, 2 sisters, and a brother.
