Martin Ortiz Perez, 71, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Unity Point Health Marshalltown. Funeral services for Martin will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Martin Ortiz Perez was born on July 2, 1949 in Mexico to Carlos Ortiz Vazquez and Maria Concepcion Perez. Martin was united in marriage to Emma Ortiz on January 16, 2000, in Marshalltown. Martin had worked for twenty-three years at JBS. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Marshalltown. Martin enjoyed reading his bible, watching wrestling, baseball and boxing as well as barbequing and eating tamales. Above everything, Martin enjoyed the time at home, spent with his family. Martin is survived by his wife of twenty years, Emma. Daughters: Norma Yadira Rodriquez, Marisol Henry, Karla Concepcion Vega, Erika Gutierrez and Karla Ortiz.  Siblings: Teofilo, Severiano, Marcos, Ceverina, Helena, Victoria, Elvira and Amelia.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Marten Anthony Ortiz, Kaytlynn Alexis Blain, Johnny Angel Rodriguez, Emily Darlene Rodriguez, Ryan Edward Blain, Destiny Mercedes Rodriguez, Hope Isabel Longoria, Daisy and Jasmine Avalos. Martin is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Maria and his son-in-law, Juan Rodriguez.
