Marvin Edward Danner Jr., 53, of Marshalltown, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of the cremated remains will be at a future date at Lamoille Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the family. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com.Marvin Edward Danner Jr. was born on April 18, 1956, in Marshalltown. He was the son of Marvin Edward Danner Sr. and Anna Mae Moore. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1974. He served our country honorably in the United States Army. He married Rhonda Reed and they had a son, Matthew.Eddie was a carpenter and a painter. He was a self-taught guitar and piano player. His nickname was Eddie Van Danner, in honor of guitarist Eddie Van Halen. Eddie played bass guitar in the local band USA, which played at schools, night clubs, and Skate Town. He also enjoyed shooting pool, playing ping pong, swimming, and was a master at Hot Shots 3. He also enjoyed his nieces and nephews. Left to celebrate his memory are his son, Matthew, of Delaware; his two grandchildren; his father, Marvin Danner Sr. of Marshalltown; his brothers, Rod(Renee) Danner, Randy(Sandy) Danner, and Joe Danner, all of Marshalltown; his sister, Melissa Danner of Jewell, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.In death, he has rejoined his mother, Anna Mae Danner, his brother, Doug Danner, and his grandparents.
