Marvin E. Doran

Marvin Doran, 80, of Liscomb, died Monday morning, August 15, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18, at the Liscomb Church of Christ with Pastor Troy Emley officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Liscomb Cemetery. Born on August 1, 1931, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Roy and Iva (Kiser) Doran. He received his education in the area of his birth. On May 18, 1959, he was united in marriage to Nancy Jennings in Blue Earth, MN. They made their home at Liscomb for many years. Marvin was employed for 26 faithful years at Fisher Controls until retiring in 1989. He attended the Liscomb Church of Christ. Left to cherish his memory is Nancy, his loving wife of 52 years, five children: Allen (Connie) Doran of Melbourne, Steve Doran of Beaman, Annette (Scott) Koch of Voorhies, Iowa, Cindy Durnin of Conrad and Roy (Charlene) Doran of Melbourne, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, his sisters- Helen Halter of Newton and Phyllis (Bob) Green of Mound City, Kansas and many nieces and nephews. In death, he rejoined his parents, step-father Howard Halverson, sister Verneal Baker and a granddaughter Nickie OClair.
