Marvin “Marv” Edward Reese, 89, of Gladbrook, Iowa, passed away on Monday October 9, 2023 at Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown.

Marvin Edward Reese was born on February 6, 1934, in Marshalltown, Iowa to parents Clarence Edward Marean and Mildred Aldine Barker. Marvin served honorably in the United States Air Force. Then on August 6, 1954, he was united in marriage to Eunice Jane Wilson at Gladbrook, Iowa. Marvin worked for Fisher Controls until his retirement in the maintenance and display department. He was the governor of the Moose Lodge and a great bowler. Marvin enjoyed woodworking, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes play on T.V. and most importantly he loved attending all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. Family was very important to Marv.

Marvin is survived by his children: Edward Reese of LaMoille, IA, Jane Anne (Charlie) Burgstahler of Ogilvie, MN, Gail (Susan) Reese of Gladbrook, IA, Jeff (Sherry) Reese of State Center, IA and June (Daniel) Holland of Dubuque, IA; grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeff) Mahoney, Jamie Reese, Jason Reese, Justin (Ariel) Reese, Mark (Kim) Ecklor, Calvin (Aja) Burgstahler, Ryan (Alexa) Burgstahler, Brian (Shannon) Reese, Krystal (Ben) Wedgwood, Amy Reese Harris, Heather Paar, Crystal Paar, Ben (Megan) Reese and Ashley (Joey) Jensen; sister: Darla Smith; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Marvin is preceded in death by his wife Eunice Jane Wilson, parents Mildred Reese and Clarence Marean, maternal and paternal grandparents, son Joseph Reese, grandson Travis Reese, two brothers and one sister.
