Marvin Veatch Jr, 58, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away suddenly on January, 2, 2020 at Unity Point Health in Marshalltown. Per Marvin’s request cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. Memorials in Marvin’s name may be directed to his family for a later designation. Marvin Laverne Veatch Jr was born January 26, 1961 to parents Marvin Sr and Betty Lou (Crow) Veatch in Ottumwa, Iowa. He was one of six children born to the two. Marvin attended school in Ottumwa, Iowa, and graduated from Ottumwa High School in the class of 1980. Marvin was a long-time resident of Marshalltown and worked as a furniture delivery man for McGreggor’s Furniture Store for over 30 years. Marvin was a simple man. He loved watching the Raiders play football and his cats who were his four-legged furry companions. Left to remember and cherish his memory are his siblings Melvin Leroy Veatch of Marshalltown, Mary Louise Miller of Ottumwa, and Barbara Mae Haycock of Prospect Harbor, Maine; and numerous nieces and nephews. In death, Marvin rejoins his parents Marvin Sr and Betty Lou Veatch and his sisters Carolyn Jo Thompson and Sandra Jean Veatch.
