Marvyl A Clemens

Marvyl Ann Clemens, 91, died February 15, 2018 at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad, Iowa. Services will be held at the Union Community Church, Union, Iowa with Rev. Rick Schill officiating on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at the Union Community Church where family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at a later date. For condolences please visit www.Mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234.  Marvyl was born on September 22, 1926 to Ross and Helen Riggins in Dougherty, Iowa. She married Gordon Clemens on December 22, 1947. Marvyl is a graduate of St. Thomas school of Nursing. She worked at Eldora Hospital as a Registered Nurse and then stayed home for a time to raise her 3 children. She later worked at Dodger Industries as a seamstress. She retired from Dodger in 1987. Marvyl was a member of the South Hardin Kiwanis for over 30 years, treasurer of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years and a member of the Union Community Church. Marvyl volunteered at the Union Public Library for 25 years and helped deliver meals on wheels for 15 years. She loved to sew and quilt and was a very talented seamstress.  Marvyl is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gordon Clemens; children: Candy (George) Wait, Randy (Dianne) Clemens and Barry (Peg) Clemens; grandchildren: Paula (Perry Johnson) Wait, Toni Wait, Curtis (Lynette) Clemens, Tim (Jennifer) Clemens, Brandon (Tiffany) Clemens and Ryan Clemens; great-grandchildren: Dylan Clemens, Brock Kinney Brianna Clemens and Sydney Clemens as well as several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.   In death, Marvyl rejoins her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
