Mary Kathleen Albright (73) passed away on October 19th, 2015, at her home in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Sunday, October 25th, 2015, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorial contributions can be made to the family, to be designated at a later date. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Mary and her family. Ph. 641-844-1234. Mary McConnell was born on February 28th, 1942, to Forrest and Roseva (White) McConnell in Alden, Iowa. She was educated at the Gladbrook Highschool, graduating with the class of 1960. In 1961, Marvin D. Hammer and Mary McConnell were united in marriage in Marshalltown, Iowa. Marvin later passed. In 2003, Mary was married in Guttenberg, Iowa, to James L. Albright. After her retirement in 2010, she and James moved to Pembroke Pines, Florida. Mary was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church for many years. She loved basketball, and followed the Iowa Hawkeyes as well as the Los Angeles Lakers. Mary also was a volunteer at her church, and for the East Central Iowa Brain Injury program; she always loved helping people in need. In 2005, Mary was inducted into the Iowa Girls Basketball hall of fame in Des Moines Iowa. Left to cherish her memory is her husband; James Albright, son; Jeffrey Hammer and Jennifer Hammer, grandchildren; Joshua, Chris, Manuel, Ellen, and a great-grandchild; Aden. In death, she rejoins her parents; Forrest and Roseva McConnell, brother; Jerry Ayers of Reno, Nevada, Larry McConnell of Marshalltown, Iowa, and her first husband; Marvin Hammer.
