Mary Ankrum

Mary Ankrum, 68, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015, in the comfort of her own home. Funeral services for Mary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2014, at Faith Assembly of God, with Pastor David Martin officiating. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to services where her family will be present to greet friends. Memorial contributions may be directed in Marys name to her family. Mary Smith was born on May 23, 1946, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lawerence and Hilda (Ash) Smith. She was raised and educated in the Garwin School District, graduating from Garwin High School. Mary spent the majority of her working years with Mid-Iowa Workshop. On July 5, 1969, Mary was united in marriage to Harold Ankrum in Marshalltown. They made Marshalltown their home all of their lives. Mary was a member of Faith Assembly of God and treasured her family- especially the grandkids. She also enjoyed reading the paper, watching the news, and she and Harold always made it a point to go out to dinner once a week. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Craig (Wendy) Ankrum and Ruth Sharer; grandchildren: Brianna Ankrum, Caleb Ankrum, Joshua Ankrum, Matthew Ankrum, Kristen Hernandez, Tarra Inman, Blake Lucas, Shaun Jr. Carmer, and Jaycee Stivers; great-grandchildren: Joseph Hernandez, Trevion Mckinley, Elcia Estrada, Lilliauna Estrada, Ayden Lucas, and Baby Sheets who is on the way; two sisters: Mareen and Alice; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one great-granddaughter, Destiny.
