Mary Jane BaedkeMary Jane Baedke, 76, of Marshalltown, died Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.A memorial service celebrating Mary Janes life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 11, 2010 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials will be directed by the family at a later date. For condolences please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Phone 641-844-1234. Mitchell Family Funeral home is caring for Mary Jane and her family.Mary Jane was born in Ames on January 10, 1934 to Joseph and Josephine (Hemping) Musser. She grew up in the Ames area and graduated from Ames High School. Mary Jane was united in marriage to Darwin Baedke on July 17, 1954 in Ames, Iowa. Mary Jane was a homemaker and raised her children, Peggy, Ted and Terry. The family made their home in Marshalltown while Darwin worked in construction. She later worked for the Marshalltown School District in Food Service at Lenihan and Anson Schools for 20 years. Mary Jane enjoyed camping at Rock Creek State Park, making campfires, fishing, having her cardinal collection, playing cards, doing word search puzzles, reading, watching her grandsons play softball and just loved spending time with her family and friends.Left to treasure Mary Janes memory are her husband of 56 years, Darwin, children, Ted and Terry (Linda) of Marshalltown, son-in-law, Tom Hiett, of Ames, ex-daughter-in-law, Becky of Marshalltown. Grandchildren Jacob (Mandi) Hiett, Amy Hiett of Ames, Ryan (Denise) Baedke of Casper, Wyoming, Adam and Lucas Baedke of Marshalltown, Shay (Baedke) Bramstedtof Wilder, Minnesota, Joshua Barker of Marshalltown, Joseph Baedke of Union and Matthew Baedke of Marshalltown, and great-grand children, Tatum and Levi Bramstedt ofWilder, Minnesota and Alyssa Baedke of Casper, Wyoming. Also surviving are her sister, Neta Mae Williams and brother, Edgar (Donna) Musser of Minnesota, along with nieces and nephews and dear friends.Mary Jane has now rejoined her parents, Joe and Jo Musser, her daughter, Peggy Jo, her brother John and his wife, Elizabeth.
