Mary Lamb

Long time resident of Le Grand, Iowa, Mary Lamb, age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 10, 2021 in the comfort of her own home. A family led celebration of life for Mary will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00 P.M. at the Monet Center (LeGrand Community Center) 206 North Vine Street LeGrand, IA 50142. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Mary and her family. Mary Sharon Nash was born on April 6, 1941 to parents Robert and Josephine (Kunch) Nash in Reinbeck, Iowa. She attended school in Marshalltown and graduated in 1959 from Saint Mary’s High School and was the valedictorian of her class. She went on to attend college and received her associates of arts degree from Ottumwa Heights Community College in 1961 and she once again held the distinct honor of being valedictorian of her graduating class. On September 6, 1962, Mary was united in marriage to Kenneth Lamb at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown. They began a family together raising two children. Mary worked at a number of jobs within the Marshalltown area and also working as an administrative assistant for AEA-6. Mary and Kenneth later separated but still remained friends. Mary was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish: St. Mary’s Catholic Church.In her free time, Mary enjoyed a wide array of activities some of which included, watching tv, reading a number of books, crocheting, listening to country music, playing pepper, cooking,cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and playing board games with her family. She had a love for sewing where she even made her own wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses for her own wedding. She showed love for her family and made the clothing for her children as they were growing up. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her children: Kelly Lamb and Wade (Tonya) Lamb, her grandchildren: Chellbe Lamb, Scott Watson, Ethan Lamb, and Owen Lamb: alongside numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Josephine Nash, her brothers: Don Nash and Robert Nash jr., her sister-in-law Gloria Rickertt, and her nephew: Mark Nash.
