Mary Jo (Mrs. Dean) Lynch, 73, of rural Beaman, died early Saturday morning, May 24th, at the Israel Hospice House in Ames. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 28th, at St. Henrys Catholic Church with Father Don Czapla officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Badger Hill Cemetery in a private family service. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Born Mary Jo Moseley on November 24th, 1934, in Rock Island, Illinois, she was the daughter of J.R. and Helen (Strupp) Moseley. She graduated from the Villa DeChantel in Rock Island, IL in 1953. She later attended Marycrest College. On August 4th, 1956, she was united in marriage to Dean E. Lynch at St. Marys Catholic Church in Marshalltown. They made their home on the farm for 49 years near Beaman and recently moved to Conrad. Mrs. Lynch was employed at DeKalb Seed at Beaman and worked along side her husband Dean on the farm. Mrs. Lynch was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and St. Henrys Catholic Church in Marshalltown, the American Legion Auxiliary in Beaman and the Oakwood Golf Course in Conrad. Mary Jo treasured her family and friends and enjoyed reading, playing cards and bridge, golf, flower gardening and traveling. She will be greatly missed by many. Left to cherish her memory are Dean, her loving husband of 51 years, three children: Danice (Jack) Zern of rural Conrad, Rick (Linda) Lynch of Boone and Kathy Jo (Mark) Button of Elizabeth, Colorado, her dear grandchildren: Nicole (Tony) McKillip of West Des Moines, Brook (Adam) McPherson of Ames, Brittany Zern of Conrad, Tyler Lynch of Ames, Daniel Lynch of Boone, Hannah, Drew and Amy Button all of Elizabeth, Colorado and great-grandson Trey McKillip of West Des Moines. Also surviving are her sister Judy Allen of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, and brother John Moseley of Rock Island, several nieces, nephews, her sister-in-law Marjorie Clingan in Des Moines and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her parents, J.R. and Helen Moseley.
