Mary Louise Price

Mary Louise Price, 92 of Legrand, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Villa Del Sol Nursing and Rehab Center in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Ferguson Bible Church in Ferguson, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday January 11, from 5:00to 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. Mary Louise Baker was born on October 9, 1920, in Memphis Missouri. She was the daughter of Robert James and Mary Jane (McIntosh) Baker. Mary Louise attended school in Troy, Iowa, graduating with the Troy High School Class of 1939. On June 24, 1939, Mary Louise was united in marriage to Donald Carl Price in the Bloomfield United Methodist Church parsonage in Bloomfield, Iowa. She and Donald lived near Bloomfield, Iowa and in Burlington, Iowa. Mary Louise worked at Star Wholesale Foods and Giant Foods in Burlington as a department manager and clerk from 1968 until her retirement in 1986. She was a 4-H leader and always loved her involvement. She was a dedicated volunteer, sewing, quilting, crocheting and knitting for RSVP, making baby caps, booties, and baby afghans for deceased infants and children. She also made therapy balls and bibs for Burlington Hospital patients and enjoyed reading in her spare time. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Darlene (Delbert) Eakins of LeGrand, Iowa; Bobby Gene (Brenda) Price of Bloomfield, Iowa; daughter-in-law: Shirley Price of Burlington, Iowa. Grandchildren: Larry (Donna) Eakins; Donnie (Sue) Eakins; Becky (Tom) Stanford; Robbie (Hazel) Price; Ronda Ellerman and Rex Price, Amanda Price. Great-grandchildren: Nathan (Lindsey), Kyle and Jacob Sanford; Mary and William Eakins: Michelle and Michael Ellerman: Kilshandra and Keir Price and great-great-grandson Carter Cantrell . Siblings: Beverly Grogan of Salida, Colorado; and Ronald (Alice) Baker of Aurora, Colorado. Mary Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband;son, Jerry Dean Price; sisters: Roberta Baker, Twila Ward, and Geneva Clark and Virginia Roberts; Brothers: Ralph Baker and Richard Baker.
