Mary Randall, age 82, of Sheffield, formerly of Clive, passed away early in the morning of Thursday, December 6th, at the Sheffield Care Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 11th, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake with Fr. Gossman officiating. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the services at the church. A luncheon will follow mass with the family. Memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice, 302 North Grand Ave. St. #5, Charles, City, IA, 50616. She will be laid to rest in the Melbourne Memorial Gardens Cemetery next to her husband, Clair. Born Mary Haus on July 2nd, 1936, in New Hampton, IA, she was the daughter of Edward and Thelma (Bach) Haus. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in North Washington (northwest of New Hampton) and later attended UNI. On December 28th, 1954, she was united in marriage to Clair Randall at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eldora. The couple made their home in Waterloo, and later Clive. Clair passed away on February 11th, 2015. Mary later moved to the Sheffield Care Center in 2018. Mary was a woman of strong Catholic faith and enjoyed water skiing, reading and motorcycling with Clair. She was a member, along with her husband, of the Heart of Iowa BMW Club. Mrs. Randall had also worked part-time at Kohl’s. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Randy (Lois) Randall of Clear Lake, IA; Brenda (Philip) Atkinson of Buffalo, MN; Darcy (Rick) Schultz of Annandale, MN; and Trudy Randall (her faithful companion, Ollie the dog) of Omaha, NE, grandchildren; Eric (Ashley) Randall of Omaha, NE, Erin (Anthony) Turner of Des Moines, IA; Christopher Atkinson of Adel, IA; Andrew (Amanda) Atkinson of McGregor, MN; Dylan Schultz of NYC and Adam (Maria) Schultz of White Bear Lake, MN as well as eight great-grandchildren and brother Danny Haus of St. Louis and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In death, Mary rejoined her beloved husband of 60 years, Clair, her parents, and sisters Tressa MacAlloon and Annette Haus.
