Mary Jane (Wolf) DeSchamp Sieh, 77, of Reinbeck, passed away at the Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, July 23rd 2015. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 8th at the Garwin United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. A short graveside service, for the family, will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Montour, Iowa, following the Memorial Service. A celebration of her life will be held at the American Legion Hall in Garwin, after the services. Mary Jane was born on March 5th, 1938 in Montour, Iowa to Gilbert and Martha (Long) Wolf. She was united in marriage to Hubert DeSchamp on October 23rd, 1953. During their marriage they owned and operated DeSchamp Construction Company and farming business in Garwin. Mary Jane then pursued a nursing career at MCC and received her LPN degree. She worked at area nursing homes and Marshalltown hospital and loved taking care of people. Later, Mary Jane married Edward Sieh and made their home in Reinbeck. Mary Jane will be remembered as being a generous woman of faith with a big heart, helping those in need. She was an excellent cook and had a passion for growing beautiful flowers and sharing them with family and friends. She loved spending time with her family, animals, watching Wheel of Fortune, the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes sporting events. Mary Jane is survived by her children, Dawn (Jim) Smith, Douglas (Glenna) DeSchamp, Sarah DeSchamp, Matthew (Stephanie) DeSchamp, and niece Martha (Chan) Wallace; grandchildren, Nicholas, Maria, John, Khambia, Scarlet, Grant, Hannah, Abbey and Matthew; great nephews and niece, Zac, Luke and Libby; 9 great grandchildren; her cousin Karen Holland; special sister-in-law, Doris Wilkerson and family; dear friend Lorna Ochs; and many other extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward Sieh, brothers Jerry and Gilbert Wolf and sister Marilyn (Wolf) Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes everyone to do random acts of kindness to neighbors, people in need, and strangers, in memory of Mary Jane.
