Mary Watts

Mary Watts, age 84, of Melbourne, passed away on the evening of Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the UnityPoint Health: Grinnell Regional Medical Center.  Care for Mary and her family have been entrusted to the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Mary was born at home in Lake City on April 11, 1936 to parents Thomas and Clara (Bushman) Nagle.  She graduated from Nemaha High School.  Mary was united in marriage to Wayne Watts on June 15, 1979 in Marshalltown.  She worked as a waitress at Shady Oaks restaurant at Best Western and was a member of the American Legion.  Mary was the best cook around!  She also loved to bake, garden and can.   She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Wayne Watts; children: Tina (Jeff) Crookshank, Tammy (David) Ash, Wayne Watts II and Michael Watts; grandchildren: Tabatha (Nick) Goodrich, Heather (Joey) Lauder, OIiver (Lisa) Coleman, Sara (Rich) Watts, Kelly Coleman, Samantha (Austin) McBirnie, Gavin Watts, Peyton Watts, Kensi Watts, Hunter Widmer and Lindsey Widmer; great-grandchildren: Autumn Goodrich, Gavin Goodrich, Gracie Goodrich, Hank Lauder, McKaylie Coleman, Kayden Watts, Jada Kelly; and three sisters, Darlene, Luetta and Mickey. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; son Jimmy Sevier; daughter Rita Sevier; siblings Rich, Tommy, “Curly,” “Petey” and Melvin; and grandson Tyler Crookshank.
