Matthew Goecke

Matthew Michael Goecke, age 46, of Ontario, California, was greeted at heaven’s gates by his father and numerous other family members on the morning of November 2, 2021. Services for Matthew will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services. Full military rights will be rendered by the Marines Honor Guard and the VFW/American Legion combined Honor Guard following the services at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Matthew was born August 9, 1975 to parents Kenneth Dean and Debra (Goodman) Goecke in Marshalltown, Iowa. He grew up around the Marshalltown area and in California. He attended school in Walnut California and graduated from Walnut High School. Following high school, Matthew answered the call to his country and served in the United States Marine Corps during Desert Storm. During his time as a Marine, Matthew achieved the ranking of E-4 Corporal. He served for four years and was honorably discharged. Matthew raised his two children Sydney and Ethan Goecke. He worked for Gallagher-Bassett since 2004 until the time of his passing as an insurance claims adjuster.The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Matt. He loved evenings spent with family and friends with a glass of wine or scotch in his hand. Listening to music of all kinds. He had an uncanny ability to find good in all people.  No one was a stranger to him. He took time to call everyone in his phone contacts to show some love. He will be remembered with his witty quirks, sense of humor and jokes. He loved hard.  He is survived by his loving children, Sydney Goecke and Ethan Goecke; his mother, Debra Keim and his bonus mother Lucy Goecke; his siblings, Andrea Phillips, Claudia (George) Torres, and Gabrielle Ramirez, his nieces and nephews, Raven Encinas, Logan Encinas, Gemini Cifuentes, Angel Cifuentes, David Koch, George Torres jr., Sabrina Ramirez, Victoria Torres, Alyssa Ramirez, and Zayden Cifuentes; alongside numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other loved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Dean Goecke and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
