Matthew Scott Owens, age 58, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Iowa Veterans Home.

Matthew Scott Owens was born September 10, 1965, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the son of Ernest and Jeanette (Walton) Owens. Following his graduation from Marshalltown High School, Matt decided to serve his country. Matthew proudly served his country in the United States Navy. On November 15, 1993, he married the love of his life, Deborah in Norfolk, Virginia. Matthew and Deborah later made their home in Mystic, Iowa. For the majority of his career, Matt was involved in sales and marketing. He was a member of the local Christian church in Centerville, IA. Matt was a hard worker and family man. His family was everything to him. On his time off, he enjoyed watching baseball, “Go Cubs” and pro-wrestling.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Owens, his children, Seth and Hope Owens, his mother Jeanette Owens, his brother Tom Owens and his beloved St. Bernard, “Beethoven”.

Matthew is preceded in death by his father Ernest Owens.
