Matthew 'Matt' Seim

Matthew Matt Seim, 51, of Marshalltown, Iowa, died on the morning of Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in an automobile accident. Memorial services for Matt will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Kerry Jech officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where Matts family will be present to greet friends. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Matt and his family. Matthew Seim was born on July 27, 1964, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Gene and Esther (Hartbeck) Seim. He was raised and educated in the Marshalltown school district, graduating from Marshalltown High School. Following high school, Matt honorably served his country enlisting with the United States Marine Corps. He was married to Lynn (Westendorf) Seim for nineteen years. The two later divorced, but from this union two children were born: Reece and Miranda. Matt was currently employed as a machinist at Fisher Control. He had a passion for fishing, Iowa Hawkeyes, his yellow lab: Candi, but most importantly loved being around his friends and family. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Shandra, Reece and Miranda Seim; parents: Gene and Esther Seim; siblings: Deb (Ron) Keller, Doug Seim, Tim (Jan) Seim, Mindy (Jamey) Hutcheson and Janelle (John) Whaley; many nieces and nephews as well as his four legged companion: Candi. He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
