Matthew Vajgrt

Matthew Christopher Vajgrt, 59, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away at his home on Monday, February 12, 2024.

Per the wishes of Matthew and his family, cremation rites have been accorded under the care of the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Matthew was born October 5, 1964 and raised in Marshalltown with his three other siblings by parents Martin and Diane (Barry) Vajgrt. He dedicated himself to his work and helping others. He began at a very early age working in the family business, Vajgrt Construction, Lawn Grading. He also worked his passion as an auto body mechanic at Showroom Auto Groom for years. He loved to stay busy and was a man of many projects. He enjoyed tinkering, model cars, jigsaw puzzles, ceramics and John Deere. He loved cats and being outdoors, especially doing yard work and riding dirt bikes. Matthew had a big heart and enjoyed giving to others while expecting nothing in return.

He is survived by his daughter: Abbygayl (Justin) Kriegel step-son Lance Tew; siblings: Michael (Brenda) Vajgrt and Dietta Villarreal; nieces and nephews: Bradley, Blake, Emily, Ashley, Jacob, Bailey and Mandii; numerous cousins and other extended family members.

Matthew is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Diane, his brother Martin Benjamin Vajgrt, grandparents Rosa and Kenneth Emerson and the Benjamin Vajgrt family line.
